Tag Rugby Club aims to promote the health and well-being of children across a variety of age groups ranging from 4-12 yr olds. IRFU Qualified coaches provide structured classes to Boys and Girls focusing primarily on skills such as Evasion, Passing and Kicking together with how to defend and attack.
Physical contact is known to discourage children from Rugby at an early age. It is the intention of
these classes to provide a non-contact alternative which compliments mainstream sports such as GAA, Rugby or Soccer. Coaching will be delivered through 'games' rather than 'drills' with the emphasis on having fun with friends. Classes are split into P1-2s; P3-4s; P5-7s, making each class relevant and suitable for each player.
These classes are ideal for boy's or girl's interested in taking up Rugby or any other team sport, they are also perfect for young players who already play contact rugby and want to excel. These classes have been shown to enhance players skill sets which translate brilliantly into their contact game. No longer are kids looking for contact, they now evade and look to off load. The midweek sessions give these kids more opportunity to build core skills which adds to what they may do on a Saturday Mini Rugby Session.
In addition to offering structured classes for children, Tag Rugby Club is keen to introduce weekly Adult Tag Rugby classes for beginners. This is designed to be a social activity giving men and women an opportunity to meet new people and have great fun whilst they exercise. These classes include skills coaching together with matches which are fast paced, fun and a brilliant workout.
Tag Rugby Club can come to you. If you have a kids party or adult event, we can organise non-contact Rugby themed games to entertain your guests. This is suitable for boys and girls 4years + and for outdoor or indoor occasions. We provide the equipment, all you need to do is supply the space.
